The Path of Holiness

Holiness

is a path

to trudge along

under the guidance

and inspiration

of God's Spirit.

Is holiness

still relevant today,

when most often

a life of compromise

is preferred

rather than

the life of discipline?

The key I have found

is that it only takes

a little step forward

to be holy

as I want to

and a little step backward

to loose that holiness

if I choose to.

The subtle difference

and the tiny line

between holiness

and insanity

is in the little

precise choices

I make every day

for life

or for death

for peace

or for sorrow.

It all depends

on that freedom

to be holy

as my God is holy

or to stay out

of holiness path,

and walk along the way

of my sinful, fragile,

human nature.

With God's grace,

I choose life today.

I choose holiness

and all the peace

and joy that comes with it.
